Nore's smash hit 'Oye Mi Canto' brings Reggaeton movement to the mainstream; New album 'One Fan A Day' set for December 21 on Roc-A-Fella Records

NEW YORK (Roc-A-Fella Records/ www.rocafella.com) - NORE, one half of the Queens duo Capone N' Noreaga - or CNN - recently became a member of a very prestigious club: the Roc-A-Fella dynasty. Simultaneously, Nore's latest banger, 'Oye Mi Canto,' featuring Nina Sky, Daddy Yankee, GemStar and Big Mato, is tearing up radio, the clubs and the charts. The undeniable rap/reggaeton hybrid has been embraced by pop radio to the tune of 3,000-plus spins nationwide and is #20 with a bullet on the Billboard Hot 100 while a hot new video shot in Miami by director Gil Green is just impacting at BET and MTV.

'Oye Mi Canto' thumps with the infectious pulse of 'Reggaeton' music, a latin interpretation of dancehall reggae mixed with elements of salsa and merengue that developed in Panama 30 years ago and now thrives - with it's own superstars like Tego Calderon and Ivy Queen - in Puerto Rico and American cities like New York and Miami. Constructed of catchy conga drums and keys, the track displays Nore's latino roots and uncanny ability to take risks with his artistry. 'About 6 years ago, I started hanging out a lot in the all-Spanish clubs in New York,' expalins Nore. 'and discovered this music called reggaeton that actually represented the young, inner city latino! It's not merengue, it's not salsa, you can be sexy and still be gangsta with it. I figured I saw all my latinos doin it, and I'm latino as well, so I'm gonna represent for reggaeton and be the first one to get it played on MTV and BET. Reggaeton is going to be around for a long time. It's gonna be as big a dancehall is, for sure. And when reggaeton becomes bilingual, that's when it'll be as big as hip-hop is. It's the future.'

NORE is preparing for the December 21 release of One Fan A Day, his Thugged Out/Roc-A-Fella debut and 4th solo album.
