SANTA MONICA, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Interscope Records) -
Solange Knowles AKA SoL-AngeL, currently on tour to support the August 26th release of her new album, SoL-AngeL and The Hadley St. Dreams, performed with a broken foot on June 1 at the Kansas City, MO "
Art Of Love" tour date which also features
Raheem DeVaughn and Chrisette Michele. As
Solange entered the stage in Kansas City, a large piece of metal fell from the doorway and onto her foot, breaking it. Ms. Knowles continued to head out to the stage and performed her full set while in extreme pain. Immediately following her performance, she was rushed to the hospital where she learned her foot was indeed broken. A true professional and extremely passionate about her art,
Solange will continue on with the remainder of the tour while in a cast. Per the doctor's instructions and because of the immense pain she is experiencing,
Solange will perform her set while sitting on a stool.
SoL-AngeL and The Hadley St. Dreams, features a dream-team of hot producers and songwriters that include: Solange herself, Grammy winner Mark Ronson, The Neptunes, Q-Tip, Lamont Dozier, SoulShock & Karlin, Jack Splash, Lil Wayne, Boards of Canada, Bilal and Marsha Ambrosius of Floetry. The CD is a sample of Solange's artistic and creative approach to music. The innovative Melina directed the video for the first single, "I Decided". Solange will also appear on MTV's TRL (during their "Spankin' New Music Week") and BET's 106 & Park the week of June 9th to personally introduce her video to viewers. Additionally, the video has been added to VH1 Soul Spotlight. Beginning June 9th, the video will receive 100+ spins every week on the channel.
