Sophie Kauer Is The Youngest Person To Achieve No 1 Spot On Classical On-Demand Audio Streaming Chart
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Deutsche Grammophon and Verve Label Group are proud to announce British- German cellist Sophie Kauer's performance of the first of Clara Schumann's 3 Romances, Op. 22 has reached number one on the Classical On-Demand Audio Streaming chart, making her the youngest artist since the chart's inception to achieve this top position at just 21 years old. She started her studies very early on at the Royal Academy of Music in London and is continuing her studies at the Norwegian Academy of Music with cellist Torleif Thedéen. Kauer released her DG debut EP Unsung in March in celebration of International Women's Day and is best known for playing the prominent role of ingénue cellist Olga in award-winning film TÁR starring Cate Blanchett.

This comes on the heels of another notable first- Decca Records US Joseph Oerke's honor of being the first ever classical executive featured as Billboard Magazine's 'Executive of the Week'. Both accolades further cement Verve Label Group as the premiere home for classical music, consistently dominating the classical chart and routinely securing 80 to 90% of the chart's top ten spots. This week the eight tracks at the top of the chart feature six artists from five countries highlighting the diversity of artists and artistry that Verve Label Group champions.

Catch Sophie Kauer next on the STAGE+ original "300 Years Bach in Leipzig" alongside Lang Lang and Daniel Hope on June 9th. Verve Label Group will continue releasing best in class new music with upcoming María Dueñas, Moby, Randall Goosby, and Isata Kanneh-Mason projects coming soon.
