The Waterboys 1st LP Of Original Songs 'Modern Blues' Out Today; Tour Next Week Performing On Letterman April 20, 2015
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The Waterboys' 'Modern Blues' - their first LP of original songs in 8 years - is out today via Harlequin and Clown/Kobalt. Behind praise from the Wall Street Journal, Entertainment Weekly, and Billboard, 'Modern Blues' was also just listed by The Telegraph (UK) as one of the 'Best Albums 2015 So Far,' alongside Bob Dylan, Blur, Laura Marling + more.

The album features a crew of serious heavyweights, including Muscle Shoals legend David Hood, drummer Ralph Salmins, longtime Waterboys fiddler Steve Wickham, and Memphis keyboardist "Brother" Paul Brown. This very same group of musicians will join Waterboys mastermind Mike Scott on tour, which kicks off next week in Austin, TX. This will be Hood's first tour since performing with Traffic in 1972! In addition, The Waterboys will perform 'Modern Blues' standout "The Girl Who Slept For Scotland" on Letterman on Monday April 20th.
