"The Wave" Releases New Hip Hop Album - "Million Dollar Day"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) A new hip hop album has been released by "The Wave," titled 'Million Dollar Day'. The 14 Track LP is the first album released by this talented artist, who began his career as rapper "K.Gates " in 2004. His newest project Million Dollar Day, embodies the plight of a young hustler rising from the midst of the struggle to emerge into the arena of financial freedom and economic empowerment. The album features appearances by Max B, Franchise Tief, Keith Jacobs and Donkey Badazz (cousin and label-mate of Baton Rouge rapper Lil Boosie). Donkey Badazz appears on Track #6 'Not Mine'; its video has been featured on AllHipHop.com, TheSource.com, KevinNottingham.com, among many other music blogs. The album includes motivational tracks such as "Dollar Bill,' 'Road to Riches' and 'Nigerian Nickel,' all of which serve as inspiration to listener striving toward Million Dollar Days - sold on iTunes.

Co-signing the album is Harlem hip hop recording artist Max B (Million Dollar Baby). He appears on the album's seventh track "The Wave". Also worth noting is - "Faraki", where the rapper joins the likes of hip hop legends such Slick Rick and Notorious B.I.G. in his efforts to embark on the art of Story Telling. It is noteworthy since many in the hip-hop genre have abandoned the story telling niche, which has been rooted deeply into hip-hop since its inception. Million Dollar Day also features the smash single, "Do Right Ü Gain Success (Drügs)," a collaboration project with Roxxanne Montana's fashion line Gorgeous Gangsters. To celebrate the release of "Million Dollar Day," "The Wave" has released the new rap song's official video for "Do Right Ü Gain Success (Drügs)," which can be seen on YouTube.

"The Wave" has made several appearances on B.E.T.'s flagship hip hop TV show, "106 & Park," both as a performer and a guess hip hop artist. He has also performed at multiple Jazz Fest, The House of Blues and SOBs in New York City South Village before crowds of 40,000+ fans. "The Wave" is best known for recording the New Orleans Saints football theme song "Who Dat Black & Gold Super Bowl". The song has been downloaded over 1.2 million times and its video has received several million views. As an underground rapper "The Wave" has done mixtape collaborations with hip hop DJ greats such as DJ Kay Slay (Ultimate Hustler) and DJ Drama (Save The City), released then under his original name "K. Gates."

"I'm 'The Wave' because I've created waves for myself and others in the realm of music, film and fashion," says the rapper, "I've also given some the very foundation of their identities, i.e. Kevin Gates (Kevin Gilyard)."

The "Million Dollar Day" album certainly fits into the category of hot new hip hop. "The Wave's" exceptional lyrics and well-crafted hooks are certainly impressive to say the least. Production from "The Good Guys" of Atlanta sets the tone for the album and "The Wave" handles the rest. This LP has a great sound and is worthy of a big thumbs up.
