NEW YORK (Meridian Entertainment, www.planetmeridian.com) - On Wednesday June 23rd, a host of R&B and radio legends, as well as special invited guests convened in celebration of the highly anticipated release of "Vaughn Harper presents Quiet Songs". The brand new album, a sensual collection of ballads and future classics was personally selected by popular New York air personality VAUGHN HARPER, voice of "THE QUIET STORM" (WBLS 107.5 FM).
It was an evening unlike no other at the beautiful and elegant Il Campanello Restaurant in New York City as the stylish & the classy set mingled and celebrated the debut release of "Quiet Songs" Due in stores on Tuesday June 29, 2004, "Quiet Songs" will be the first in a series of CDs on Luann/Orpheus

The swanky affair was attended by R&B/Soul greats such as Nile Rogers (of Chic), The Persuaders, Ray, Goodman, and Brown, Alyson Williams, and Robert "Kool" Bell (of Kool & the Gang). Radio personalities such as Hal Jackson and G. Keith Alexander also came through to show full support for Vaughn Harper's project. The dimly-lit room was alive and buzzing with excitement as the guests were treated to cocktails and dinner, as Mr. Harper himself shook hands, embraced fans old and new, amid the background theme music from the "Quiet Songs" CD.
Charismatic and always charming, Harper took the stage and graciously thanked his guests for coming through. He said, "I've wanted to do something like this for quite some time. So it is with great pleasure that I can say everything has come together at the right time for this series of CDs to be presented. I recognize that I can't bring my entire show to this CD, but believe me, it comes close to that experience." Harper proceeded to introduce 17-year old chanteuse, Chantel Rose who wowed the audience with a song titled, "Hello". Rose set the stage for saxophonist Andre Ward performing "Every Time I Open My Eyes" and "All I Ever Ask", a duet with Chantel Rose. Closing out the set, Andre Ward brought down the house with his instrumental version of the undeniable hit single, "Step In The Name Of Love."
