YouTube Will Live Stream The 'White Album' Event For Beatles Fans Around The World At 7PM GMT Today
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Just ahead of the global release of The BEATLES ('White Album') on November 9 via Apple Corps Ltd, YouTube Music is collaborating with Universal Music and Apple Corps Ltd. to host an evening dedicated to The Beatles.
The panel event - set to be streamed live from London on The Beatles YouTube channel at 7pm GMT on Wednesday November 7th - will feature commentary and insights from Giles Martin, the Grammy Award®-winning producer of the White Album's new anniversary edition; Dan Stubbs, Commissioning Editor for the NME; Felix White, former guitarist of The Maccabees; Andy Bell, guitarist of Ride; Miles Kane, soloist & singer from The Last Shadow Puppets and Georgie Rogers, presenter, DJ; and music journalist from BBC 6 Music, Soho Radio and Foundation FM.
The panel will be moderated by Matt Everitt of BBC 6 Music. Miles Kane will also share a live, solo acoustic performance of "I'm So Tired".

During the discussion and Q&A, the expert panel will delve into the White Album's newly remixed and expanded anniversary edition, the album's songs and musical ambition, its continued influence in contemporary music, and whether such an album could be created in today's musical landscape.

In addition, there will be live commentary from The Beatles YouTube channel so fans around the world can get their questions answered by the panel.

QUOTES:
- Giles Martin commented: "The Beatles 'White Album' was and continues to be a unique and inspirational record."

- Felix White said: "I'm very much looking forward to discussing the 'White Album' on Wednesday. It might have been the first full length record I ever heard and, in truth, has never been matched by anything to my mind since. Its endurance is pretty miraculous for a record so long, so varied and at times, so flippant too, and has always been a touchstone as reference throughout my life!"

- Georgie Rogers commented: "I'm thrilled to be part of what I think will be an illuminating discussion on such a landmark anniversary about a fascinating album in sound and context."

- Matt Everitt said: "Hopefully this a chance to disassemble a record that saw The Beatles dissemble the idea of what a pop record could be. Is it really the first art rock album? Perhaps it's the first DIY album? I'm looking forward to the panel looking closer at the moment the biggest band in history let you in to see it's inner creative workings - and how that changed everything."

- Andy Bell commented: "It's really cool to have been asked to join this discussion about, and celebration of, one of my favourite albums of all time. Especially as I think Giles Martin is making these albums sound the best they have ever sounded."

- Azi Eftekhari, Head of Music Partnerships, UK, YouTube Music commented: "Celebrating such a major milestone for a band as legendary as The Beatles is a real honour for YouTube Music, and is part of an ongoing partnership between YouTube and The Beatles. We are so happy to host this livestream on The Beatles YouTube Channel for fans around the world to enjoy."
