New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Andrea Bocelli has collected the prestigious lifetime achievement honor at the 2014 Billboard Latin
Music Awards at in recognition of an exceptional musical career. One of the best-selling singers in music history with a total of 14 studio albums, three greatest list recordings, nine complete operas, Bocelli has sold over 80 million albums worldwide.
At the ceremony,
Andrea Bocelli and long time friend and collaborator,
Laura Pausini performed a specactular version of their 2009 "Vive Ya," a song nominated for Record of the Year at the Latin Grammy Awards.
"I've always tried to do things I like to do, because it's only this way you can do something well," Bocelli said backstage at the ceremony. "In music you need passion, humility and patience. With classical music, you need to be concentrated and have discipline."

Bocelli is set to tour Australia and New Zealand this September, performing a collection of classical opera arias and songs from his album Passione. Concerts will take place in Auckland, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth from
September 11 - 24th.
