New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - HBO recently premiered "The Promise: The Making of Darkness on the Edge of Town" to an ecstatic critical response. Directed by Grammy- and Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Thom Zimny, the ninety-minute film documents the creation of Bruce Springsteen's landmark 1978 album. The film is but one disc of a 3-CD/3-DVD deluxe package Columbia Records will release on November 16. The deluxe package also includes a live concert film of 'Darkness On The Edge Of Town,' which features the current E Street Band performing the seminal album in its entirety at Asbury Park's Convention Hall in 2009. Today, the DOC NYC Film Festival announced a special screening of the concert film on November 4 at Ziegfeld Theater.

Including these two films, the deluxe edition comprises the re-mastered album, never-before-seen studio and live footage, and 21 previously unreleased songs. It is six hours of film and more than two hours of audio. The contents are packaged in an 80-page notebook with facsimiles of Springsteen's original notes from the recording sessions, alternate lyrics, song ideas, recording details, personal notes, a new essay from Springsteen, and never-before-seen photographs. The 21 previously unreleased songs will also be available separately as a 2-CD set called 'The Promise.'
