New York, NY (Top40 Charts / Columbia Records) Fans can hear "Everything," the new single from Nine Inch Nails, now on NPR Music's "All Songs Considered" at https://smarturl.it/NINNPR. The song is the second single from Hesitation Marks, the band's first album in five years, which is due out
September 3 on Columbia Records. The video for "Everything," directed by Shynola (Radiohead, Beck), will premiere the week of the album's release.
SPIN hailed "Everything" as "surprisingly poppy...That's not to say it isn't fierce in its own way - the track swerves in and out of fiery punk passages." The Fader praised it as "uncharacteristically (and therefore charmingly) upbeat" while Fuse observed, "Trent Reznor has once again broken new ground with his long-running outfit. But this time he isn't plunging NIN deeper into the murky depths of industrial rock. Actually, quite the opposite: He's pushing into the ebullient world of high-energy synth-pop."
Beginning today, "Everything" and "Copy of A," another track from Hesitation Marks, are available on iTunes:
"Everything" - https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/everything-single/id688730925?ls=1
"Copy Of A" - https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/copy-of-a-single/id686769494?ls=1
Hesitation Marks is available for pre-order on iTunes (iTunes.com/NineInchNails) and at www.nin.com. The album features 14 tracks of prime Nine Inch Nails - from the glitchy, mesmeric electronica of "All Time Low,""Find My Way" and "Satellite"to the exhilarating rock explosions of"Everything," "Various Methods Of Escape" and lead single "Came Back Haunted," which is a Top 10 hit at Modern Rock radio. Recorded in Los Angeles by Trent Reznor with frequent collaborators Atticus Ross and Alan Moulder, guests on the album include Lindsay Buckinghamof Fleetwood Mac, Adrian Belew of King Crimson, Eugene Goreshter of Autolux, bass legend Pino Palladino, and NIN regulars Alessandro Cortini, Ilan Rubin and Joshua Eustis.
Nine Inch Nails are playing a series of worldwide festival dates leading up to the launch of their North American headline tour, "Tension 2013," which kicks off on September 28.
SPIN called Nine Inch Nails' Lollapalooza set "stunning," ranking it as the "undisputed highlight" of the festival's first day while Entertainment Weekly noted, "the band sounded impeccable, and new songs like the set-opening 'Copy of A' and the single 'Came Back Haunted' are both cinematically dense and freely anthemic." Rolling Stone praised Nine Inch Nails' performance at Outside Lands as "cathartic and powerful...one of the most memorable Outside Lands sets in the festival's six-year history."
