Los Angeles, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Christa Borden Official Website) - Feisty, energetic, stubborn, ambitious, funny, intelligent and driven...these few words give insight to the enigma that is Christa Borden. Though she is classically trained in voice and piano, her music is predominately driven by the art of Rock & Roll, and as an artist she always strives for something new.
It was this attitude and tenacious attention to the genre that provided her the opportunity to open for Aerosmith in front of a crowd of 35,000 this past summer. Borden, who has been in the studio working on her new album, "I Rhyme With Orange," is scheduled to delight Los Angeles' music fans with a performance at The Roxy on Thursday, March 27th at 8:00p.m.
Because Borden often challenges what "is," both externally and internally, she enjoyed the contradiction that nothing rhymes with orange. In deciding that in fact she would rhyme with orange, she also created a theme for a record that takes the listener on a journey of self-discovery and finally arriving at a place of self-acceptance. Borden explains, "Reflecting on the poison past finding the beauty in everything right now, dreaming big and being proud to rhyme with orange."
The debut album, I Rhyme With Orange," is scheduled for a Spring '08 release.
Borden partnered with several of Los Angeles' hottest musicians/writers/producers including, We3Kings (Pink, Melissa Etheridge, Hillary Duff), Claudio Cueni (Nas, Tupac, Lee Ann Rhymes, The Temptations) and Michael "Fish" Herring (Prince, Christina Aguilera, Tupac, Mariah Carey, Lionel Richie) all who teamed up with Christa for "I Rhyme With Orange." The result is a musical expedition in which the listener will journey along with Borden through temptation and near-insanity to finally gain self-acceptance.
Borden also possesses one of the hottest and most innovative interactive websites on record, and will soon be the envy of musicians everywhere.
