New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Continuing his stratospheric rise to the top, LA-based emerging singer/songwriter Aleem is back from supporting
Fifth Harmony on their European tour, with his much anticipated debut 'Open Letters - EP', dropping 11th November 2016.
The hotly anticipated 4-track EP features Aleem's trademark softly-sung lyricism, off-set against on-point production from a talented Juno Award-winning team consisting of Canadian Carly Rae Jepsen-collaborator Ryan Stewart, fellow countryman Jon Levine (famous for writing hit singles for the likes of Cher Lloyd,
Nelly Furtado and Dua Lipa) and multi-platinum songwriter Scott Harris who's credits include the likes of The
Chainsmokers and
Jessie J. Their unmistakable style is stamped across the EP, from the emotionally honest 'Are We Gonna Make It' to the slow moving 'We'll Get This Right', drenched in soothing sonic emotion.
Opening with a chord sequence worthy of Justin Bieber's 'What Do You Mean', Aleem tells us of his emotional torment, inviting us into the darkest corners of his mind in 'Inside Out', a track that is at once uplifting and moving. The echoing percussion of 'Are We Gonna Make it' soon give way to powerfully layered production with everything from soaring strings, to a tight bass riff.
Title track, and debut US single, 'Find Out' tells a tale of heartbreak, wrapped up in an instantly irresistible package of gentle piano melodies, a gripping guitar riffs.
Described by MTV as a highlight of his performance opening for
Fifth Harmony at The O2, when he 'gave us ALL the Ed Sheeran-vibes with his singer-songwriter style of performing', the track set the tone for the beginning of Aleem's burgeoning career. The single is accompanied by stunning visuals from Philly Fly Boy, the director behind visuals for international big hitters like T.I and Lil Wayne, a further indication of the kind of support Aleem's music is already seeing.
The newcomer's self-taught musicianship coupled with inspiration born out the discovery of Ed Sheeran's sessions with Grammy Award-winning producer
Craig Bauer on Youtube led to a meeting at Bauer's studio, lighting the touch-paper on Aleem's career. Now with his latest EP, the rising-star continues to develop his trademark trail of what he explained to All
Access as "deep and descriptive stories that the listener can immerse themselves into."
Having spent 2016 establishing himself as one of the most exciting up and coming pop artists around, supporting the likes of
Jack & Jack and
Fifth Harmony around the world, Aleem is now set to take his live successes to his recorded music with his 'Open Letters - EP' on 11th November 2016.
