Born and raised in Monroe, Louisiana, Jony Shelby grew up listening to a diverse catalogue of music and playing instruments for his late father's church. Garnering a love for music at a young age, Shelby began learning to produce beats and explore his sound, pulling inspiration from artists such as Kid Cudi, Childish Gambino and James Blake. His eclectic taste in music shaped Shelby's unique sound that's carried him from strength to strength with every release.

Jony's journey began in late 2018 with the release of his debut EP 'Mango', receiving recognition from Elevator Magazine, Stereo Stickman and ZO Magazine.
