Electronic Production Duo Mako Debuts New Track "Smoke Filled Room" Today (8/6), New Tour Dates Announced
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Following this past weekend's stellar performance at Lollapalooza, MAKO is debuting their intoxicating new track "Smoke Filled Room," today (8/6) on Proximity's YouTube page (listen it below).

"Smoke Filled Room"-co-produced by rising New York City producer Prince Fox and mixed by Grammy award-winning engineer Miles Walker (Rihanna, Kygo, Deorro)-again showcases the duo's unique ability to merge their emotive and inspiring songwriting talents with state of the art production. For "Smoke Filled Room," the follow up to the Madison Beer vocal-led hit single "I Won't Let You Walk Away," MAKO's Alex Seaver assumes lead vocal duties.

"This song is a really big step forward for us," the duo explains. "We believe it's somewhat of an insight into where we'd like to take our project ahead. It's much more of an emphasis on songwriting from a place of storytelling and experience and less about power of production underneath. In that sense it definitely feels a little risky since it might not come across as 'obvious' as some of our past records. Hoping this one can paint a visual world for our audience in a way that they might not normally experience from a 128 BPM dance music vocal."

MAKO-Logan Light and Alex Seaver-are burning up this summer, quickly becoming mainstays on the festival circuit with performances at EDC Las Vegas, Electric Forest, Global Dance Festival, Sunset Music Festival, Something Wonderful, and Miami Music Week; festival performances in the coming weeks include Electric Zoo: Transformed (9/5) and Tomorroworld (9/27).

"It's so hard to beat the experience of performing in a new city and listening to the crowd singing along with your music," says MAKO of their festival experiences. "Every single time it happens, it's the highlight of the night. Here's to hoping we can continue adding original songs to our set that have the same effect!"

MAKO also recently released back-to-back collaboration tracks that are garnering serious looks. "I Won't Let You Walk Away" featuring vocals from Island Records recording artist Madison Beer has over three million Spotify streams and recently climbed into the Top 5 of the radio charts. Heavy rotation on SiriusXM's BPM and iHeart Radio's Evolution propelled the track into the Top 5 on the Mediabase Dance Radio charts. Buzzfeed Music exclusively unveiled the "I Won't Let You Walk Away" music video which is nearing 1 million views; watch it now here.

Additionally, "Children of the Wild," MAKO's collaboration with Steve Angello, was unveiled 6/1 at RollingStone.com; check it out now here. It's an emotionally charged dance anthem driven by powerful vocals from MAKO's Alex Seaver. The song, out now, received over 5 million Spotify plays in its first month, with all of those proceeds going to Save The Children Fund. The "Children of the Wild" lyric video is exclusively available on Shazam.

In an era where unexpected ingredients thrive, MAKO offers a truly unique experience. Before an introduction was made, the two budding artists spent their early life progressing musically in radically different worlds. Alex attended The Juilliard School on full scholarship as musician and played with some of the world's elite classical artists in the most storied of venues. Meanwhile, Logan was quietly mastering the art of DJing and within only a few years, began opening for some of dance music's biggest international acts, including Tiesto and Avicii, and major appearances including Lollapalooza.

The duo's first release "Beam" quickly circulated on blogs and YouTube, logging more than 4.6 million views to date. The track was featured on SiriusXM's Beta Test Tuesday which then prompted them to proclaim MAKO is "the next big thing." Since then, MAKO has found themselves in studio with some of dance music's top artists: Avicii, Steve Angello, Sander Van Doorn, R3hab, DubVision, Heather Bright, Le Castle Vania and many others.

MAKO is eager to keep bringing the music to their rapidly growing fanbase, and has just announced new headlining club tour dates (see below). "We're so grateful for the response we've received from the crowds we've played for and are pumped to keep it going with more shows throughout the end of the year," Alex and Logan share. "So come out and see us!"
