New York, NY (Top40 Charts / Company) Indie-pop artist, J GRGRY, released his new single, eFlower, an evocative, upbeat song with a somber message hidden underneath. J GRGRY courageously exposes a vulnerable past over soaring melodies, dynamic synth and cutting percussion. eFlower is now available for download on iTunes.
Opening with the combined echoes of nature blended with an ethereal sonic soundscapes, J GRGRYs latest single, eFlower, is an absolute indie pop gem. With bright and airy instrumentation, the track is a gorgeous exploration of desire with an unexpected twist. eFlower was produced by Robert
Cheek (Band Of Horses, Tera Melos, and Deftones) and mixed by Mark Needham (The Killers, Imagine Dragons, and Fleetwood Mac). The stirring hook, You make me so nervous I shake, I wanna be near you every second Im awake, immediately lends the imagination to the thought of unrequited love. However, J GRGRY is discussing his struggle with alcoholism and addiction. The song touches on the aspect of being secretive and not letting people know how far down the road of alcoholism I was, J GRGRY comments. The chorus is hard for me to sing live sometimes because I get so emotional when I think about how my hands would shake every day before I had my first shot and how dark life was for me then. While the content of eFlower comes from a dark and difficult place, it is juxtaposed by the hopeful and light tone of the music. The sheer and resounding quality of J GRGRYs cascading vocals combined with his sharp and breathtaking lyricism instantly captures attention with a beautiful resonance. eFlower is a beautiful, yet tragic confession of addiction that seizes attention with beauty and calls for a deeper pondering in its layered content.
Originally from Seattle, J GRGRY has been writing, recording, and performing music since he was a teen as a member of various bands, including The Drama, who were signed to Geffen Records. After a merger left the band without a record deal and a manager, J GRGRY moved to Arizona, where his alcoholism and depression began to fester. Growing tired with desert state, he sold his possessions and bought a one-way ticket to Italy. He had a change of heart after learning of a death in the family and speaking to his father, and decided to come back to Seattle in order to tackle his addiction and improve his mental health. Alongside his recovery, he has been working furiously in his solo musical venture with the help of his friend and colleague, Robert
Cheek as well as various musicians from Seattle. Following his debut single Rare Poisons, eFlower is the second release off his upcoming EP due out this Fall.
A breathtaking work of pop with heartbreaking undertones, J GRGRYs latest single contrasts the beauty of dark and light aspects of life. Download eFlower on iTunes now and learn more about J GRGRYs well-crafted musicianship on Facebook at facebook.com/jgrgrymusic.
