New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) While
Kenny Chesney will be filling stadiums when the 'Brothers of the Sun' Tour, with Chesney and Tim McGraw, kicks off in Tampa this coming Saturday (June 2), Kenny performed at a much smaller venue last night -- with every seat less than 100 feet from the stage -- under the Bahamian skies at a benefit concert at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island. The benefit was on behalf of the disaster preparedness non-profit PLAN!T NOW and was part of the 11th Michael
Douglas &
Friends Celebrity Golf Tournament, hosted by stars Michael
Douglas and
Morgan Freeman.
Chesney is a longtime supporter of PLAN!T NOW, which grants scholarships to students impacted by severe weather events (https://planitnow.org), and is on its board of directors.
"This is really a cause that's been close to my heart for years now, especially after seeing firsthand how weather disasters can completely tear apart a community," Chesney said. "I was honored to join my friends
Morgan and Michael in lending my voice to this important benefit and am looking forward to continuing my work with PLAN!T NOW in the future."
The 'Brothers of the Sun' Tour, with Chesney and McGraw, will visit stadium venues including Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field, Dallas' Cowboys Stadium, Detroit's Ford Field, and New Jersey's MetLife Stadium, and will also feature special guests
Grace Potter & The Nocturnals and Jake Owen. Chesney's 'Welcome To The Fishbowl' will be available on June 19 and features new single "Come Over."
