New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Fine Records) - Made Event presents remixing machine RADIO SLAVE at dance music boite Cielo on Friday, October 12th, 2007. Over the last few years
Radio Slave aka Matt Edwards has morphed into one of the most prolific and in-demand remixers around and now he embarks on his first proper North American tour, where as a DJ,
Radio Slave is about pure nightclub, dancefloor music. The 23rd Century dance music is here!
A man of many monikers- Rekid, Quiet Village, Sea Devils and Matthew E, Radio Slave is perhaps Matt's most instantly recognizable nom de guerre, thanks in part brilliant remixes of Carl Craig, M.A.N.D.Y., Peace Division, X-Press 2, Cagedbaby, Mocky, Trentemoller, the Pet Shop Boys and of course his massive acid electro debut 'My Bleep'. Matt first gained his musical spurs during the first wave of acid house by partying to dance music that was just that: music you danced to, irrespective of tribal factions. Now under his Radio Slave DJ moniker, he can pull out styles from Walter Gibbons or Metro Area electronic Disco, to Dillaeaque hip hop, and the abstract house runnings of Theo Parrish.
Matt Edwards also heads up the Rekids label with partner James Masters. In its first year the label's output has touched many styles, introducing new producers, as well as established artists. Their underlying philosophy is to release great quality 12's and with its Chicago-inspired designs, Edwards really aims to keep vinyl alive. The label marked the one year anniversary with the release of the 'Rekids One' compilation album in June 2007. The debut Radio Slave artist LP entitled 'The Difference Engine' is due out next year, following releases from Spencer Parker, and Toby Tobias.
Adultanapper's new label Ransom Note follows up its moody ghostly debut, 'Maxwell's Demon', which Time Out New York referred to as an 'assured slab of atmospheric, brooding tech-house' with its stunning second release Adultnapper 'Tewa' with a remix by Leftroom Records head honcho Matt Tolfrey and is out now. Together with Radio Slave, the future of dance music is here.
