Austin, TX. (Top40 Charts/ Susan Cowsill Official Website) - Pop/country singer Susan Cowsill returns to SXSW after winning Best Female Vocalist and Best Country/Folk/Roots Rock Band honors from New Orleans' OffBeat Magazine. This time around, the entire Cowsill family will be shaking things up at a joint SXSW Showcase event at the Central Presbyterian Church on March 13. The New Orleans-based Susan Cowsill Band, which includes Cowsill's husband Russ Broussard on drums, will kick things off at 8 p.m., and Susan will join brothers Paul and Bob, along with Broussard on drums, for a performance as the original Cowsills at 9 p.m.

Today Bob and Susan perform individually, and The Cowsills tour and perform together. Brother Barry died in Hurricane Katrina and brother Bill passed away at the same time from illnesses in Canada, but the Cowsills carry on, and their harmonies are still as infectious and bright as ever.

The real-life inspiration behind the hit television series The Partridge Family, the Cowsills - teen siblings Bill, Bob, Barry, John, Susan and Paul in tandem with mom Barbara - were one of the biggest pop acts of the late '60s, scoring a series of hits including "The Rain, the Park and Other Things," "Indian Lake" and "Hair."

"The Rain, the Park and Other Things" (usually called "the Flower Girl" song) was featured in Jim Carrey's movie, "Dumb and Dumber." The Cowsills performed on TV shows such as the Ed Sullivan Show, the Johnny Cash Show, the Tonight Show, Merv Griffin, Mike Douglas and also had their own NBC television special in 1968.

The Cowsills recorded the theme song for the TV show "Love, American Style" which is still one of the most popular songs they perform in their shows.

Susan Cowsill is also scheduled to be a presenter on the SXSW Music Panel.

If that doesn't shake up SXSW enough, celebrated New Orleans Musician and Former Cowboy mouth singer Paul Sanchez will take the stage with the Susan Cowsill and Russ Broussard at 2 p.m., March 14, at the Continental Club.
