Robert Glasper Experiment On Conan 12/7; West Coast Tour Dates
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Robert Glasper Experiment is set to appear on TBS Conan this Wednesday, December 7. The band will be performing "Day to Day," the buoyant single from the groundbreaking, GRAMMY-winning band's new album ArtScience. The Experiment lands in L.A. today to kick off a West coast tour at The Fonda Theatre before continuing on to San Francisco (SFJAZZ, Dec. 8-11), Santa Cruz (Kuumbwa, Dec. 12), Portland (Revolution Hall, Dec. 13), and Seattle (Neptune Theatre, Dec. 14). Find tour info at robertglasper.com.

ArtScience finds the Experiment getting down to its essence, with each of the band members—keyboardist Robert Glasper, saxophonist and vocalist Casey Benjamin, bassist Derrick Hodge, and drummer Mark Colenburg—delivering the vocals and sharing in the production and songwriting on the album. See what the critics are saying:

"For almost a decade, Robert Glasper has been the standard-bearer for jazz music's fusion with hip-hop, soul, and rock... ArtScience is the Robert Glasper Experiment's most realized effort, mainly because they've stopped relying on outside talent to get their point across. They've created their own vibe, one that needed their own voices to truly resonate."—Pitchfork

"Robert Glasper is special. A prolific musician with an endless-seeming well of inspiration and enthusiasm to draw from… The Experiment is still doing its own thing, coloring outside the lines prescribed by jazz… ArtScience [is] a freewheeling, genre-agnostic collection of feel-good songs."—The FADER

"Free of the vocal cameos of the Experiment's more pop-oriented 2013 sequel, Black Radio 2, ArtScience keeps the focus on the composition twists and instrumental fireworks.... Glasper's Experiment is still driven toward discovery."—Los Angeles Times

"a self-contained program that bristles with newfound spark. The absence of the high-profile special guests gives the ensemble more room to exhibit its incredible chemistry… ArtScience radiates with execution, musicianship and joyous aplomb."—DownBeat

"this new-groove jazz unit has doubled down on its purpose as a band."—New York Times
