The Heavy Pets Announce New Album, 'Swim Out Past The Sun,' Featuring David Grisman And Extensive East Coast Fall Tour
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The Heavy Pets (THP) will release Swim Out Past The Sun on October 22nd, the follow-up to their 2010 self-titled album. Returning to their acoustic roots, THP's combustible guitar duo set aside their electric axes for a more organic approach. Featuring a three song sit-in by longtime Jerry Garcia collaborator David Grisman, Swim Out Past The Sun presents a fresh perspective from the ever-evolving quintet.

The Heavy Pets will perform select Swim Out Past The Sun pre-release parties during their extensive Fall tour, kicking off in Charleston, SC on August 23rd. The album will ONLY be available at these select THP shows prior to the October 22nd release party at The Stage in Miami, FL. As an added bonus, a limited number of fans who purchase a pre-release copy of the album will receive a signed poster.

Inspired by the efforts of Positive Legacy, the non-profit arm of Cloud 9 Adventures, The Heavy Pets will donate a portion of proceeds from Swim Out Past The Sun sales between its release and the band's inaugural voyage upon Jam Cruise in support of Positive Legacy's community outreach projects in Haiti.

Swim Out Past The Sun was produced and recorded by multi-platinum, Grammy and Oscar Award-winner Scott Mathews and mastered by Grammy Award-winner Vlado Meller. Its cover art was contributed by celebrated American painter, Mark T. Smith. It is the band's third studio release and second effort with 102- Records.
