New York, NY (Top40 Charts) UK indie-punk/emo collective itoldyouiwouldeatyou are delighted to announce they will release their debut album, Oh Dearism, on 16th November 2018 via Alcopop! Records x Failure By Design Records.

The album will be the follow up to their much-lauded Get Terrified EP, and to celebrate the news the band are sharing the video for lead single 'Gold Rush' in full today, following its first radio play from John Kennedy at Radio X and a premiere at DIY Magazine.

Recently playing a Pirate Studios live session with Gaffa Tape Sandy, the band will also be supporting Delta Sleep and Tangled Hair this month, as well as appearing alongside Japanese math-rock band Tricot on two very rare UK headline date appearances later this year.

New single 'Gold Rush' is another smart change of tack for the group, which sees them embrace and implement their electronic influences for the first time, as glitchy MIDI pianos and 808 hi hats feature heavily on the single, a taster of more disparate influences threaded throughout the forthcoming album.

Commenting on the themes behind their new material, vocalist Joey Ashworth said: "Star Wars was right. Fear does lead to anger, and I am terrified. I'm ready to get angry though. I'm tired of fear and I'm ready for the next step. I desperately want my generation to answer the call. We have to answer, because it's almost too late. We have to choose radical love and violence because we are running out of options.

"This song is about not wanting to feel stuck in my body anymore, stuck in cycles of self harm. It's about choosing to fight something other than myself. The marginalised people in your life are asking you to fight with them. Join them. Help. It is worth the pain for those you love. Breath in. Breath out. We can do it. The world might be ending but I'd rather be side to side with those who need my support than scared in the corner. Don't leave me hanging."

Over the past year, ITYIWEY have slowly but surely been assembling a family of like-minded fans and friends across the country. Building on their previous material, the Get Terrified EP was a further exploration of the band's talent for finding balance within their own sound, as they straddle a range of genres from punk, emo and math-rock to wall-of-noise guitar parts and lo-fi indie.

The band's previous singles 'Mourn' and 'Divine Violence' presented their most confrontational work so far, addressing vocalist Joey's experiences of being discriminated against as non-binary and bisexual, while also taking aim at what the band sees as "cowardly" centrism in British politics.
