Yakovlev Yak-130 Makes Dubai Airshow Debut – AIN
The Yak-130 jet trainer is making its Dubai Airshow debut at the 2019 event as part of efforts by Russian manufacturer Irkut to boost export sales. The display demonstrates the Yak’s exceptional agility. A combination of wing-root extensions and an adaptive wing combined with fly-by-wire controls mean it can handle angles of attack up to 35 degrees without using thrust vectoring. The aircraft is designed to train pilots to fly a variety of fourth- and fifth-generation fighter aircraft, but it can also be deployed in a light combat role.
