R.I.P. Scott Walker - The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore - The Walker Brothers

Video info: The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore by The Walker Brothers. Band members: Scott Engel († 22th March 2019, *read further below), John Maus (Nov. 12, 1943, New York city – † May 7, 2011, Los Angeles) and Gary Leeds (March 9, 1942 - Glendale, Ca.) made up the Walker Brothers. The 3 band members were no brothers and Walker was not their real last name. Scott Engel and Gary Leeds adopted the name Walker that singer and guitarist John Maus had invented for himself in 1964: as John Walker, with a fake birth date, he could perform anywhere, even when he was not yet 21. The song was originally released as a single credited to Frankie Valli as a solo artist in 1965 on the Smash label, but was more successful when recorded by The Walker Brothers in 1966 and reached number one in the UK Singles Chart [9th March1966]. "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore" was written by Bob Crewe (Newark, 12 Nov. 1930 – † Scarborough, 11 Sept. 2014) and Robert Gaudio (Nov. 17, 1942 in New York) of The Four Seasons. Gaudio is a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame. *R.I.P.: Scott Walker († 22th March 2019) - The Walker Brothers American-born frontman star has died at the age of 76. The rock enigma, who was born Noel Scott Engel (January 9, 1943 - Hamilton, Ohio) starred in the American pop trio, popular in the 1960s and 1970s, alongside John Walker, and Gary Leeds. He became a British citizen in 1970. Scott Walker's last record ‘Soused’ was released in 2014. And his last creative piece of music he composed was the soundtrack for the American musical drama film Vox Lux (2018) directed by Brady Corbet with actress Natalie Portman.
