Bobby Bazini performs songs from his latest album Summer Is Gone in this CBC Music First Play Live session.
When Bobby Bazini hit the floor of Studio 211 for his First Play Live performance in support of his latest release "Summer Is Gone" it was clear he was all about business. Bazini and his band came prepared to play a short set of tunes from the record. The goal was to wow the intimate crowd and CBC Music with these tight performances.
Well, Bazini and his band succeeded. The songs were all met with loud appreciative applause and everyone in the room was thoroughly impressed. The only thing Bazini forgot to do was say hello. It was five songs in before he realized that maybe he should tell the crowd a bit about his journey in creating this beautiful music.
After a few short stories about writing with Country hit maker Chirs Stapleton in Nashville and how the album finally came together in studio in London, England with super star producer Martin Terefe, Bazini and his band ripped in to the first single from the record C'est La Vie.
Bazini thought the night was over but the audience had other ideas. There was no way he was leaving the studio without an encore. The shy but confident Bazini was quick to oblige with a solo acoustic performance of his song "Leonard Cohen" which left hearts melting and was the icing on a perfect night.
