Madison Gate Records Presents "Better Call Saul" Original Soundtrack
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Madison Gate Records and Sony Classical proudly announce the release of "BETTER CALL SAUL (Original Score from the Television Series)", featuring music by Dave Porter from seasons 1 and 2 of the critically acclaimed television series. The album will be available digitally and on CD worldwide on April 7th, 2017 [please add your local release date].

Many people are already familiar with Porter's incredible score for the award-winning television series BREAKING BAD. BETTER CALL SAUL is inspired by Breaking Bad's signature sound, but is completely unique and stands its own. With a more bluesy, funky and gritty vibe, Porter's departure from his own source material is an homage, but gives Better Call Saul its own sound.

"I'm excited to release my original score from the first two seasons of Better Call Saul, which see the re-introduction of two character beloved by Breaking Bad fans. We get to meet Saul Goodman as Jimmy McGill long before his transformation to Saul. And Mike Ehrmantraut long before he ever worked for Gus Fring. Completely remixed and remastered, the score is presented chronologically in order to follow their journey musically along with the show. Included are two pieces that I am most often asked about… the opening teaser from episode 208 and a new extended version of the Better Call Saul end credits — which is itself derived from a song we created with country artist Junior Brown as a promotion for the show's debut in 2015." (Dave Porter)

BETTER CALL SAUL returns April 10th, 2017, when the third season debuts.

About the Television Series: BETTER CALL SAUL is an American television crime drama series created by Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould. It is a spin-off prequel of BREAKING BAD, which was also created by Gilligan. Before he was Saul Goodman, Walter White's fashion-forward "criminal" lawyer, he was Jimmy McGill, a small-time attorney hustling to champion his underdog clients, build his practice, and somehow make a name for himself. The first season's finale found Jimmy walking away from a lucrative job offer, vowing to Mike Ehrmantraut that his days of playing the game straight are over. The show's 10-episode second season premiered on February 15th, 2016. It follows the twists and turns of Jimmy's journey toward becoming his Breaking Bad alter ego, along the way soaring to new heights and sinking to new lows. The show's first season earned seven Primetime Emmy® Award nominations including Outstanding Drama Series for its 10-episode first season, plus a pair of Critics' Choice TV Awards.

About Dave Porter: Dave Porter is a Los Angeles based composer for television and film. He began his classical musical training at the piano at age five, but it was his interest in electronic music as a teen that led him to start composing his own music. He studied both classical and electronic music composition at Sarah Lawrence College under John Yannelli and started his professional career as an assistant at Philip Glass' studio in New York City. Dave is best known as the series composer for the Emmy-acclaimed drama BREAKING BAD, scoring all 62 episodes and creating its iconic theme. Actor/Producer Bryan Cranston stated: "With his music, Dave Porter has created another character for BREAKING BAD. Evocative and meaningful, Dave's work is an essential part of the storytelling." For his work on the series, Dave was awarded the inaugural ASCAP Composer's Choice Award by his peers as Best Television Composer of 2013. Dave currently scores 3 of television's most talked about dramas. BETTER CALL SAUL, the Emmy nominated prequel to BREAKING BAD; PREACHER, from executive producers Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and Sam Catlin; and THE BLACKLIST, starring James Spader and currently in its fourth season. On the big screen, Dave recently finished James Franco's THE MASTERPIECE, based on Greg Sestero's book THE DISASTER ARTIST, which chronicles the creation of the cult film THE ROOM. It comes from Good Universe, New Line Cinema, and Point Grey Pictures and debuts in 2017. Last year saw the release of TERM LIFE by Universal Pictures and starred Vince Vaughn, Hailee Seinfeld, Terrence Howard, and Bill Paxton. Previous credits include the indie horror film SMILEY and the Sundance Festival feature documentary BIGGER, STRONGER, FASTER.
