MIAMI, FL. (Ultra Music Festival/ www.ultramusicfestival.com) - Somebody told you, but now it's confirmed! Grammy nominated artist The Killers will be making their first Ultra Music Festival appearance on Saturday, March 25th at Bicentennial Park in Miami. Being praised by SPIN magazine as the "New Masters of Dance Rock" and their Band of the Year, it only seemed natural that they appear at the nation's largest dance music event.

Hailing from Las Vegas, Nevada, The Killers burst onto the music scene in 2004 with their hit single "Somebody Told Me" and quickly followed it up with their smash hit "Mr. Brightside" off their debut album Hot Fuss. The album received rave reviews from every music outlet including Rolling Stone, SPIN, Blender, etc and has since gone on to receive 3 Grammy nominations this year: Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal, "Mr. Brightside" and Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal, "All These Things That I've Done" and Best Remix "Mr. Brightside."

"Ultra has come a long way. After seven years of booking the biggest, best and most diverse dance music artists, the time has come to expand the festival's format and continue our growth by including some of today's hottest alternative bands with dance culture influences, like The Killers, Hot Hot Heat and Hard-Fi. We are extremely excited to have the opportunity to present music enthusiasts a festival experience truly like none other before it," said Russell Faibisch, Ultra co-founder/producer/director.

The Killers join Ultra Music Festival's previously announced artists The Prodigy, Paul van Dyk, Hot Hot Heat, Hard-Fi, Paul Oakenfold, Carl Cox, Perry Farrell, Erick Morillo, Danny Tenaglia, Richie Hawtin, Mauro Picotto, Armand van Helden, DJ Hell, BT, Benny Benassi, Nic Fanciulli, Meat Katie, Grooverider and Donald Glaude on the all-star lineup. Also new confirmations include old school and new Peter Hook of New Order has been added to do a special DJ Set in the VIP Area along with party monsters Superstar DJ Keoki, Lady Miss Kier (Dee-lite) and DJ Rap.

XM Radio has also returned as a UMF sponsor and will be broadcasting DJ sets live from the festival. Other sponsors include AOL Music, MySpace.com and Pioneer Pro DJ. In addition, a special Media Player has been added to https://www.ultramusicfestival.com where visitors can listen to complete tracks from selected artists performing at this year's festival.

Last year, UMF 7 sold out downtown Miami's Bayfront Park and made history by drawing a record number of attendees and landed a coveted position in Billboard Magazine as the No 3 top-grossing event in the United States, following only behind U2's Vertigo Tour Kick Off and Elton John's concert.
Previous UMF performers include Moby, Underworld, The Chemical Brothers, Tiesto, The Crystal Method, The Streets, Carl Cox, Sasha, John Digweed, Danny Tenaglia, Tommy Lee, Rabbit in the Moon, The Rapture, LCD Soundsystem and more. Celebrity fans of UMF include P Diddy, Naomi Campbell, Colin Farrell and Tara Reid.
