New York, NY (Atlantic Records) - James Blunt, whose single 'You're Beautiful' has rocketed to the top of the charts in the U.S. as well as his native England, will perform a May 28th benefit concert at the Belleayre Music Festival in Highmount, NY.

James Blunt has taken the music world by storm since the release of his debut album, BACK TO BEDLAM. The former British soldier has sold more than seven million albums worldwide, has toured throughout the UK, Europe and North America, and recently appeared on Saturday Night Live and The Oprah Winfrey show here in the U.S.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit both the Belleayre Music Conservatory, a non-profit founded to promote cultural programs in the Catskills, and the 'Snuffy Suites.' The idea for the benefit was conceived by Atlantic Records A&R executive Mary Gormley, a Phoenicia native. The 'Snuffy Suites' dog shelter in the town of Shandaken was named in memory of Mary's loving canine companion, 'Snuffy,' who passed away last year. At that time, Mary asked James if he would consider doing a benefit to raise funds for the shelter. He readily agreed and will perform an intimate acoustic show at Belleayre on May 28.

'James is truly a man of his word,' Mary related. 'His career is now a whirlwind of fame and he is gladly taking the time to perform the 'Snuffy' benefit.'
The Belleayre Music Festival show will start at 7 p.m. Tickets for the James Blunt show will be available May 1st, only through Ticketweb (www.ticketweb.com).

Belleayre Music Festival concerts are held on the grounds of Belleayre Mountain in Highmount. Belleayre Mountain is located in the heart of New York's Catskill Mountain region. The area is located just off Route 28 and is 37 miles west of Thruway Exit 19 at Kingston; 55 miles southeast of Oneonta on Route 28; 40 miles from the Route 17 exit at Roscoe; and 95 miles southwest of Albany and just two hours north of NYC.
