London, UK (SONY BMG MUSIC Entertainment) - It all started off as it shouldn't go on: Terry Hall playing a record by Jonathan King and a blacked up Richard Norris - of 90s chart toppers The Grid - grunting his way through 'I Want To Wake Up With You' with a pink cocktail umbrella in his afro.

After plumbing those depths the only way was up. "We are worshipping at the Church of pop!" declared Reverend Rowley as he preached from the good books of Britney, Rod and Ice (Vanilla).

In the congregation: Kelly Osbourne, who has only missed one of the Koko parties; Russell Brand from off the telly whose hair inspired the dj's in the Erection Section room to dig out their Heart and Poison records and Siobain Fahey of Bananarama who was reunited with Fun Boy 3 pal Terry Hall: 'T'aint what you do, it's the way that you do it' is still a message to which we can live our lives by.

Camden's finest Queens of Noize ditched their indie schmindie for far finer fare like 'Jump' by the Pointer Sisters (and boy do this pair know how to jump, bounce, hop, skip and throw shapes). Mairead even knew all the actions to Tiffany's 'Think We're Alone Now' attempting to outshine the Pleasurettes (who hit back with a bravado performance of '9 To 5').

The Queens were then sent off to the Soft Rock Cafe to play Toto, Boston and Bruce. Dub Pistol Barry Ashworth used to play pop in Ibiza in the late 80s when it was then termed 'balearic'. It's now called Guilty Pleasures mate and that includes 'Sinful' by Pete Wylie.

The Triple Pleasure dance troupe caused lips to kiss the floor in awe at their aerial displays and cartwheeling antics. They are none more gay (with the music to match). One of the dancers appears to be carrying some extra baggage around his mid-riff but it doesn't stop him gliding gracefully across the floor/sky like a curly permed swan.

The stage invasion came early, you all shot your bolt to one of the guiltiest records in our canon: a Barry Manilow song covered by Take That. Yes with 'Could It Be Magic' you thought it was all over. But no, we had one more trick up our sleeve with our tribute to Cher. You made room for two blokes in drag called Cher and Cher-alike to mime skillfully and swap wigs in honour of the big haired rock icon. If I could turn back time it would be 9pm on Saturday night and we could do it all over again. Instead you'll have to catch up with Sean and the gang at one of their festival appearances or wait until the end of Sepember when we return to Koko. What on earth will we have in store for you by then?
