NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - For much of 2007 and 2008, Reed KD lived out of the back of his VW Vanagon. Awakened by garbage trucks in L.A., waiting out tornados in the Midwest, and eating deep-fried turtle in Kentucky, there has been no shortage of adventure and ingenuity in Reed's unique lifestyle and music career. Returning to his home by the sea, Reed KD put his life to music using one good mic, a couple borrowed and his laptop in his northern California bedroom. 'In Case The Comet Comes,' out June 9, is 11 original songs recorded by and featuring Reed plucking, strumming, sliding, drumming and singing (with friends and family contributing bass, drums, trashcans, fiddle and bass trombone). Blending intimate neo-folk ("If The Tide Swings"), slow-burning twang ("Lake Missouri") and rowdy bluegrass ("Cactus Garden") 'In Case the Comet Comes' bridges Americana and rock, guided by Reed's crisp, effortless voice. NPR described Reed KD as "a perfectly orchestrated hybrid of Elliott Smith's soft, introspective voice and Simon & Garfunkel's narrative songwriting." I Guess I'm Floating weighed in too, describing Reed's music as a "modern twist on folk - a cross between Beck and Elliott Smith."
