New York, NY (Top40 Charts / Grey) Grey announced that its Seventh Annual
Legends of
Music Seminar will feature Lou Reed, the American singer, songwriter, guitarist, playwright, poet and photographer who was a founder of the legendary
Velvet Underground. The seminar will take place at the 60th Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity on Thursday, June 20, 2013 (Noon Cannes time) at the Grand Audi Theatre.
Lou Reed will be interviewed by Tim Mellors, Vice Chairman and Worldwide Creative
Director of Grey Group. He will be introduced by Jim Heekin, Chairman and CEO of Grey Group.
The recounting of his creative journey promises to be a high point of what has become one of Cannes' most popular music events.
Lou Reed: Transformer of Rock
Lou Reed is recognized as one of the finest songwriters in history and is considered among the most profound influences on modern rock music. Along the way, he expanded the vocabulary of the electric guitar and helped invent glam rock and punk rock.
Named to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996 and awarded the Commander of Arts and Letters from France, Reed has produced such iconic music as "Sweet Jane," "Rock & Roll," and "Walk On The Wild Side," releasing more than 16 albums including "Transformer," "
Berlin" and "Coney Island Baby."
