LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts/ Primary International) - In 2004, the transposition of punk/new wave songs from the 80's into a 60's Bossa Nova style was the initial statement of the 'Nouvelle Vague' project, a French saying which translates as 'New Wave' in English and 'Bossa Nova' in Portuguese.

The truth about this statement, which can be verified on the first album that sold over 400,000 copies, was that by making a song travel in time, by taking it to another continent, by changing its sex (all the songs on the first album were sung by female vocalists: Camille, Me'lanie Pain, Eloisia, Silja, Marina Celeste), they exposed its unrevealed beauty.

On Marc Collin and Olivier Libaux's 2nd album - "Bande a' Part" (released in 2006) - Nouvelle Vague widened the borders of its musical language by adding touches of Reggae, Ska, Blues... and continued to offer to 80's songs a unique promenade through time and space.

In the meantime the band was building an intense stage identity through hundreds of concerts worldwide.

Nouvelle Vague had undertaken the task to define the contours of a heterogeneous "cover" which respects the original title and author but utilises a different musical language capable of federating the music lover (although dearly attached to the originals), as well as a wider range of public for who the originals have become less known, and of course the original artists.

Amongst the latter in no particular order: The Clash, Depeche Mode, The Undertones, Killing Joke, Modern English, Morrissey, The Dead Kennedys, Echo and the Bunnymen... have all approved of Nouvelle Vague's creations in one way or another.

The band releases its new album "NV3" on 3rd June 2009.

The form evolves within the Nouvelle Vague concept but the backbone remains the same: revealing impeccable songwriting hidden in the shadows of more or less famous 80's songs which are highlighted by the help of the band's famous female voices (Me'lanie Pain, Nadeah Miranda, Eloisia, Marina Celeste, Phoebe Killdeer, Siljia), the whole remaining pertinent and meaningful.

Nouvelle Vague reaches the point where a song, although already perfectly rendered in its original version, can still become a completely different one, to the extent that sometimes the public doubts whether it is a "cover" or not.

Nouvelle Vague's approach is so unusual that some of the original authors accepted to participate in the recording of the "NV3" cover of their own songs.

This is the statement of this 3rd album.

We never hear of any artists singing on covers which dissemble so much from the song their originally wrote nearly 30 years ago, or even covering their own song.

There are a variety of musical tones proposed by Nouvelle Vague on this third album such as Bluegrass, Country, Folk, Americana, Pop...

And the loop is looped when we hear on a "Nouvelle Vague" cover the voice of Martin Gore (Depeche Mode), Ian McCullough (Echo and The Bunnymen), Barry Adamson (Magazine), Terry Hall (The Specials), Samy Birnbach (Minimal Comact) or Chris Bailey (The Saints)...
