New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Continuing a music career that spans more than 50 years, Paul Cotton has announced that he will be performing at a private birthday party at the Boca Raton Resort and Club. The event is in honor of club member, Sherry Gould's birthday.
"I am so looking forward to this special event," said Paul Cotton. "I always enjoy performing in intimate venues in South Florida."
Cotton is well known for his days as the lead guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter in the band POCO. He has also enjoyed an ongoing career as a solo artist. Recently, he released his newest solo album, "100% Paul Cotton."
"The album is my way of reinventing some of my songs and remembering the way I composed them in the beginning," said Cotton. "For instance, I do my song, 'Heart of the Night,' acoustic on the new album. That's how I originally wrote it."
For Mitch Gould, having Cotton perform at his wife's birthday party is a chance to reconnect with the beloved entertainer. The singer has recently enjoyed seeing a day named in his honor in Key West and is looking forward to POCO's upcoming induction into the Colorado
Music Hall of Fame.
"Sherry and I have a personal connection to these songs and it is our pleasure to bring Paul Cotton's music to the masses," said Mitch Gould. "He is a consummate professional and I know all attendees will appreciate his talent."
The singer, while in his 70s, shows no sign of slowing down. In fact, Cotton says he continues to be inspired by fellow musicians like Tony Bennett, B.B. King and Willie Nelson.
"I'm definitely not giving up anytime soon," said Cotton. "Music is what I do best. It's a gift and I respect having it."
