NASHVILLE, TN. (Word Records) - Word Records' award-winning male vocalist
David Phelps is preparing to launch his third annual Christmas tour on December 14. The "
Love Goes On" Christmas Tour concert events are sponsored by World Vision, and will feature an interactive evening of contemporary and traditional Christmas music from Phelps along with special guests, female vocalist Erin O'Donnell and comedian Daren Streblow.
The tour takes its name from "Love Goes On," the hit single from Phelps' newest solo project, Revelation, which was released earlier this year. "The message of that song is really about God's love for us, and there's no better picture of that love than the birth of Christ," said Phelps.
"This is something we've been doing for several years now and I always look forward to these events. We've worked hard to ensure that this is not just another concert-we want this to feel like a group of friends getting together to celebrate Christmas."
"This is a Christmas event that people continue to enjoy year after year," commented Jim Chaffee, Phelp's manager and president of Chaffee Management Group. "It's more than a typical concert, and that has really resonated with the audience. We've seen over 20% growth each year, and are looking forward to a very successful tour."
David Phelps first appeared on the Christian music scene as the first place winner of the 1988 Music Seminar in the Rockies vocal competition in Estes Park, Colorado, and then went on to become Artist in Residence for First Baptist Church of Hurst, Texas. Since joining the Gaither Vocal Band in 1997, he has appeared on over thirty projects with the multi-platinum group in addition to releasing the independent solo album Journey to Grace.
Prior to his Word Records debut, Revelation, Phelps released two projects for Spring Hill Records, Joy, Joy, and his self-titled national solo debut. Originally a Texas native, Phelps now lives near Nashville, Tenn., with his wife, Lori, and their four young children.
Critically-acclaimed female vocalist Erin O'Donnell recently released her first Christmas project, Christmas Time Is Here, on Inpop Records. Produced by Ed Cash (Amy Grant, Chris Tomlin, Bethany Dillon), the project has already garnered critical acclaim for its classic Christmas stylings. Over the span of her five recordings, O'Donnell has amassed eleven "Top 10," two "Top 5" and two No 1 radio hits. She has performed on numerous national television shows, headlined major concert tours and, most recently, has participated in the "Evening of Compassion" Tour, sponsored by Compassion International.
Comedian Daren Streblow performs his observational comedy with a passion, charm, and attitude that has audiences cheering for more. He has been featured on Brad Stine's "Rebel Without a Curse Cutting-Edge Clean" Comedy Tour and performs regularly at ACME Comedy Company in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
