NEW YORK (JLM PR/ www.hsan.org) - The Hip-Hop Summit Action Network (HSAN) presented awards to Mary J. Blige, Ludacris and the Ludacris Foundation, Anheuser-Busch, Inc and MTV's Choose Or Lose campaign at its second annual Action Awards program at Pier 61 The Lighthouse, at Chelsea Piers in New York City last night. The HSAN Action Awards were created to honor hip-hop artists and businesses who've made outstanding contributions to the empowerment of disadvantaged communities.

Commented HSAN Chairman, Russell Simmons, "These four awardees represent the best of hip-hop and the best of corporate support for the empowerment of our communities. Tuesday, November 2nd will be the most important election of our lifetimes and we want to emphasize that one action we all can take to make a difference is to vote."

Added HSAN President/CEO Dr Benjamin Chavis, "The presentation of the Annual Action Awards is another celebration of the evolution of hip-hop culture and recognizes the specific contribution of those who continue to support the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network's national youth development programs."
