NEW YORK (KOCH Records) - KOCH Records has announced the reissue of The Slits debut album, "Cut," for the first time on CD, on January 25th. Formed in 1976 and led by then 14-year-old Ari Up, The Slits were one of the first and most significant female punk bands. They made a few crude recordings, and then joined the Clash on their White Riot tour, firmly cementing their place in punk history. In 1979, they recorded "Cut" with reggae producer Dennis Bovell. The record was a slight departure from their sound; unlike their live shows and previous recordings, "Cut" was a confident, stylistic record (not to mention the infamous album cover). KOCH Records' reissue of "Cut" will include the two bonus tracks that were on the U.K. reissue, "I Heard It Through The Grapevine," and "Liebe and Romanze."
