NEW YORK (Thrive Music/ www.sanderkleinenberg.com) -
Sander Kleinenberg presents This Is Everybody Too, the awesome follow up to last year's widely acclaimed Everybody. New mixed set features Tiefschwarz's genius take on Spektrum's 'Brand New,' Deepsky's 'Talk Like A Stranger,' as well as two exclusive new Kleinenberg original productions. Album begs the question, 'If clubbing is supposed to be fun, then why the hell are you taking it so seriously?'
As CD one of Sander Kleineberg's newest mix album kicks off, you may be a bit thrown. 'Did I put on Tortoise instead of Sander's new album? And what's this pretty synth-pop 'Birthday' song all about? I thought we were supposed to be clubbing?' Well, Mr. Kleinenberg has never been one to pass up a mindfuck, and where would the fun be in giving you only what you expected in the first place? Sander creates and plays credible club music for grown folk. But let's not let these adjectives fool you into thinking that this mix is aimed solely at the chin-stroking set- this DJ has his sights focused on your derriere, and yes, he will make it move. Yes, he will.
This Is Everybody Too is a DJ mix album set over two discs, and includes forthcoming and current classics from the likes of Spektrum (with the massive Tiefshwarz re-rub of 'Kinda New', currently being heralded in the UK as the remix of the year), hotly tipped Australian funksters Infusion with 'Do To You In 82', Junior Boys with their forthcoming 'Birthday' and Deepsky's soon to be huge 'Talk Like A Stranger.' Now, we have been waiting for some time for one of the world's biggest DJ's to give us a club smash of his own and boy has Sander delivered- not once but twice.
This Is Everybody Too features two brand new Sander Kleinenberg productions; the righteously filthy 'The Right Time' and the funk-oozing 'The Fruit'. Disc one ('Another Attempt Won [Or Was It The Last?]') features the smooth build up and the big numbers, while disc two ('Another Attempt Too') features the vision and the payoff. Listen to both these discs with open ears...
Sander's Everybody brand grew out of his yearning to take clubland back to its roots, and away from the politics, sub-genre minutia, and, well, bullshit that were the unfortunate side effects of dance music's rapid ascension in the latter half of the 90's. "Going out is really about celebrating life and having a good time. That's what Everybody is all about - celebrating life." A pretty simple outlook, and a damn healthy one for the DJ culture that perhaps began to take itself a bit too seriously.
Since the release of the inaugural Everybody in October of last year, Sander has been busy bringing the future to the masses by continuing his work in pioneering (no pun intended) the new Pioneer DVJ-X1 in his DJ sets. The DVJ-X1 is the world's first DVD DJ deck that allows one to manipulate video as well as audio in the mix. Sander explains, 'It's a way to make DJing more fun, more interactive and overall more memorable. I am convinced that it will bring about a new style of DJing. And more importantly will put DJing and dance music back in its pioneering position (pun intended).' More than willing to spread this new gospel, Sander is taking the sights and sounds of Everybody around the globe and into the world's finest clubs via an extensive global tour in support of the album.
And speaking of pioneering positions, Sander's revolutionary remixes of Annie Lennox's 'Wonderful' and Justin Timberlake's 'Rock Your Body' (the latter picking up Dancestar's 2004 'Best Remix' award) have made the world's biggest artists clamor for the Kleinenberg touch. The latest to get a taste of the magic are N*E*R*D and Janet Jackson, the latter topping the Billboard dance charts (Kleinenberg's third remix to helm the chart over the last 12 months!)
Sander's set at this year's Ultra Music Festival (30K attendance) in Miami and it's live UK broadcast as a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix destroyed listeners on both sides of the Atlantic. Sander then trumped this performance with a rocking set in the Cali desert at 2004's Coachella festival.
Following the US release of This is Everybody Too on October 19, Sander will hit North American shores for a series of highly anticipated audio/visual DJ dates. OK, time to get off the couch, pop some corks, and get our asses on the dance floor...see below for appropriate times and places.
