SAN DIEGO, CA. (Convertible Fly Records/ www.acrosstheroom.com) - Across The Room is heading back in the studio on November 22nd to record their second CD after their 2003 self-titled debut. However, instead of picking a pro studio, this time the band opted for a true do-it-yourself 'Indie-Style'. They will be recording the complete CD in a spare bedroom.

'We wanted to have the time to experiment and really work the theme and message of each song,' says Enrique Platas, who represents half of this two-man group. 'By setting up our own studio for recording, we have no time limits or no creative constraints. Half the fun will be training our ear to get the sound we are looking for. We turned down the big studio and opted to make it happen the way we want.'

Across The Room took the money from past shows and CD sales through Amazon.com and local retail outlets and bought a computer, software, and enough good equipment to make the CD. The band and their label, Convertible Fly Records, calculates that it will cost them 15% of what a full studio production would charge.

'We were in a more sincere and moody place when we wrote the new album. It's our interpretation of what's been going on in the world and within our own heads. So, we wanted time to explore our art and try new sounds without feeling rushed or concerned about our time slot being used up.
Eventually, we end up paying for the studio time anyway, so we might as well do what we want.' says Steven Cox, the other half of the band.

Across The Room plans on releasing the new as yet untitled CD in February 2005.

About The Band:
Across The Room is a two-piece rock band made up of Steven Cox and Enrique Platas. They can best be described as 'Disturbed, but Hopeful'. Their songs are an interpretation into the joys and pain of life events many can relate to. The two artists share all the normal jobs of a full band instead of being locked into individual instruments. On any given song, you might see Steven or Enrique bouncing back between percussion, bass, guitars, keyboards, samplers, and vocals – all depending on the mood and message of the song.
Over the past two years, the band has played 85 shows throughout the western United States including TV and radio spots on 91X Brand-X radio, KKSM, and KUSI. Across The Room released their debut CD on Convertible Fly Records in October 2004 to excellent reviews.

About Convertible Fly Records: Convertible Fly is a San Diego based Record Label specializing in Alt Rock and Indie Rock. Their basic attitute is that the Artist is in control.
