NEW YORK (ww.simonapple.com) - Simon Apple's new album, "River To The Sea" was released in October 2004 on the band's own label Trunk Records, and features several 'legendary' guest artists including: Bassist TONY LEVIN (Peter Gabriel, King Crimson, John Lennon, Pink Floyd), Guitarist BUCK DHARMA (Blue Oyster Cult), Saxophonist JOHN HELLIWELL (Supertramp), Cellist HUGH MCDOWELL (Electric Light Orchestra), Bassist STEVE RODBY (Pat Metheny Group), Trumpeter DAVE STAHL (Buddy Rich, Frank Sinatra, Harry Connick, Jr.).

The album was mixed by Grammy-winning engineer, DAVID LEONARD (Rush, Paul McCartney, Prince, Tony Bennett, Santana, Toto, kd lang, Chick Corea, Barenaked Ladies, etc.).
So how did this 'unsigned' band enlist the talents of these multi-platinum, Grammy-winning artists?
According the band's keyboardist, producer and principal songwriter, Jeff Miller, "I simply asked them!"
Ok... so you can basically hire anyone for the right amount of money, right?

Miller continues, "We are really honoured and grateful by everyone's gracious participation. Money was never an issue. They all essentially donated their time and we covered minimal costs. We can't thank them enough."
"I simply asked each artist if I could send them some rough mixes - briefly explaining what the project was like. Thankfully, everyone really liked the material, and we went from there!

"It was a great pleasure and a huge honour to work with these terrific artists. We've been great fans of these guys for years. Personally, I've been a life-long fan... this is some of the music I grew up to music that has inspired and influenced me.
ELO, BOC, Pat Metheny Group, Supertramp, Peter Gabriel... To actually have these guys perform on our songs is a bit surreal, to say the least. But, they were all - bar none - extremely gracious and accommodating, very nice people. And I'm not just saying that. They were all so nice and generous and their tracks speak for themselves - they sound incredible. Everything I hoped for and more. Very humbling and flattering, and I can't thank them enough."
In addition, a portion of all sales from the CD are being donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
