ORLANDO, FL. (SmokeTree Records) - Pop rock artist Jeff Coffey has been selected as the 2004 male solo act of the year by Songwriter's Showcases of America. This award is just the latest honor bestowed upon this talented singer/songwriter. In July Jeff and his band performed at the Atlantis Music Conference. " Say I" was selected as track one on the Conference's compilation CD. MTV picked 4 of his songs to feature on episodes of "Fraternity Life" and "Sorority Life". The song "Pop Goes the World" is prominently featured in the new independent movie "Stealing God". You can hear "Write About Me" in the Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen video game "Sweet 16 Licensed to Drive". The song " Carousel" was selected as song of the year in 2003 by Songwriter's Showcases of America. In addition, the singles released from his self-titled CD (Smoketree Records) have placed highly on New Music Weekly's charts. The first single, 'Say I' was well received by Program Directors nationally and was on regular rotation on over 60 stations (not college) across the country. "Write About Me" has been all over the charts with increasing spins on AC 40 & Top 40 stations. Jeff Coffey is also generating a reputation for his live shows. Jeff and his band mates (Sean Ghannam – guitar, Eric John – guitar and keys, David 'TinMan' Tinny – drums) have had many high-profile shows as well as their appearance at Atlantis. They have performed at feature venues such as Hard Rock Live, House Of Blues, and SunFest 2003. Jeff is back in the studio working on new songs for his follow-up CD.
