NEW YORK (IronBound Records) - Veterans to the hardcore scene, E.Town Concrete first erupted in 1995 and earned their loyalty the old fashioned way, on indie labels and playing til' they bled on stages across the country.
Although their m?lange of styles has earned them a kind of "scarlet letter" status in some circles, they have still managed to garner critical praise from the less pretentious. Cast any preconceived notions aside, as Jamey Jasta from
Hatebreed explains, "E.Town mixes hip-hop and metal in a way that is authentic and fresh and they have been doing so long before most of the bands that are around today."
Metal Edge concurs, "E.town embodies the old adage that you don't let a few bad apples spoil the bunch, especially since the best apples are sometimes found at the bottom."
CMJ has ranked them among the Top Five Loud Rock Acts, and they've outsold bands like
Metallica at many major alternative music retailers.
Through it all, E.TC has maintained the d.i.y. ethos that only kids from the street can have. Recently, the boys decided to take their career into their own hands and make front man Anthony Martini's own label - Ironbound Recordings - their new home. After over a year on the road, E.TC retreated into their dingy rehearsal studio and got down to business ...writing the most BRUTAL album of their career.

The result? Made for War - 11 blistering tracks produced by Dan Korneff (CANDIRIA, BREAKING BENJAMIN) exploding with brutal riffs and raw, intense energy. Here, E.TC pummels with a new found consciousness. Lyrically, it is a potent commentary on relevant social issues and expresses unabashed frustration with our current government. The aptly titled album's underlying theme is conflict - between one's self, nations, class and the media. It also includes a bonus track; an interpretation of Body Count's hit "There Goes The Neighborhood," which has been tweaked a bit to reflect most people's feelings towards E.town.
They say the true barometer for great art is the test of time. After nearly 10 years in the game, 4 albums, an EP and over 100,000 units sold cumulatively, E. Town Concrete has made their point. They have seen the rise and fall of many bands considered "cooler" or "more important," while quietly maintaining a viable career under the radar. It's time to show them the respect they deserve.
