NASHVILLE, TN. (PBS announcement) - PBS will broadcast Chris Isaak Christmas: A Soundstage Special Event on Thursday, December 2 at 10pm ET. (Check local listings). Singer-songwriter and guitarist, Chris Isaak gets in the Yuletide spirit along with special guests, Michael Buble, Brian McKnight and Stevie Nicks, who perform duets with Isaak on various selections throughout the evening.

Isaak, an avid surfer, put down his surfboard long enough this past summer to crank up the air-conditioner, decorate the studio and record Chris Isaak Christmas. Produced by Isaak and released by Wicked Games/Reprise Records on October 19, the collection includes a mix of sixteen traditional and original holiday songs and also features a duet with Stevie Nicks on "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town." Now, SOUNDSTAGE has captured the experience for an extraordinary television event.

The SOUNDSTAGE holiday concert special will feature Isaak and his long-time band performing some of his childhood favorites and classic holiday standards such as "Mele Kalikimaka," "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," "White Christmas" and "The Christmas Song." Isaak also includes a few holiday originals, including "Washington Square," a song he was inspired to write by recent visits to Iraq and Afghanistan while entertaining our troops.
"I thought about how the men and women are so far from home," says the singer. "There's nothing lonelier than missing someone at Christmas when you're far away and not safe."

Isaak began his recording career in the mid '80s with his successful recordings of Silvertone and Chris Isaak.
In 1989, the breakthrough, Heart Shaped World featured the hit single, "Wicked Game," - subsequent efforts were all a success.
Chris Isaak is also an accomplished actor and has appeared in a number of films, including Silence of the Lambs, That Thing You Do, Wild At Heart and A Dirty Shame, as well as starring in his own comedy series for the Showtime cable network.
