Matador's Algiers Announce National Headlining Tour This Fall Including Music Hall Of Williamsburg 10/11
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Algiers have announced that they will be taking their singular blend of caustic social sentiment and explosive noise on their 18 city national tour, which includes a headlining show at Music Hall Of Williamsburg in Brooklyn on October 11th. This tour follows the June release of their self-titled debut album on Matador Records. The band will be joined on the road by Philadelphia post-punk trio Dark Blue, avant-gospel collective ONO, & more acts TBD.

Witness the manic handclapping and spitfire guitars of Algiers performing "Black Eunuch" on KEXP here:

Algiers - a trio of émigrés of the American Deep South comprised of singer/guitarist Franklin James Fisher, guitarist Lee Tesche, and bassist Ryan Mahan - has been profiled in the New York Times and Wall Street Journal and praised by the likes of Vice and Pitchfork. They have toured the United States both with Interpol and as headliners.

Praise for Algiers
"This is a group of young men that have this music coursing through them, and whatever stage they play, it will be difficult for the audience to do anything but get swept up entirely in that fervor...Algiers is a band worth seeing as soon as you possibly can." - LA Music Blog

"If I had to pick one new band that you should absolutely listen to, it's Algiers." - Bob Boilen, NPR Music

"Ebbs and flows between moments of gritted-teeth tension and furious release, its solemn, confession-booth ruminations offset by heart-racing, steeple-toppling rave-ups." - Pitchfork
