NEW YORK (Rapster/BBE) - OSUNLADE is a DJ, producer, musician, and remixer who has taken the soulful house scene by storm with his beautiful productions and awesome DJ sets. Osunlade has been building his reputation for years having worked with such industry heavyweights as Patti Labelle,
Lauren Hill,
India Irie, Eric Benet,
Musiq Soulchild. He then brought this soulful influence to his house productions when he founded the Yoruba Records label in New York, (now based in Puerto Rico). OSUNLADE takes you on a seamless global journey though the freshest dance music, from chilled intro to club peaktime.
OSUNLADE is a priest of Ifa, the Yoruba religion of Nigeria. You can feel those African roots in his music, which is organic, spiritual, and full of powerful rhythms. He's been busy recently, spinning at hot spots like Cielo and at
Danny Krivitz' 718 Sessions, but this will his ONLY live performance, so don't miss out on this night of heavy live Afro-House.
The evening starts out with a great showcase of Neo-Soul/R&B Artists on the JPFM label. Now, you know that S.O.B.'s can spot the best new talent a mile away, as proved by our Sol Village series, which has always been ahead of the curve in breaking new artists. This evening's show is full of diverse talent: Edwin Vasquez is a young Puerto Rican musician who grew up in Brooklyn, Faro's Haitian roots add a deep Caribbean flavor to his soulful music, Cyndi is a tri-cultural singer who has worked with some of the top names in French Caribbean music like Emeline Michel and others, and M. Aladin started out in the Church choir but went on to star in off-Broadway shows and tour Japan as a performer. They've all got something to say, come listen to it.

Osunlade's musical lineage is unlike other Underground Heroes.
His accolades go beyond the dancefloor anthems for which he is widely known. He has lent his production to some of soul music's most reputable new voices (India Arie,
Musiq Soulchild, Vivian Green, Eric Benet), legends (Patti Labelle, Martha Wash, Freddie Jackson) and multi-platinum pop hits (Gerardo's 'Rico Suave').
These opportunities have rewarded Osunlade the freedom to focus his attention on his own label, Yoruba Records, and expand the scope of his own releases. In 1997 he became a priest of Ifa, a naturalist culture deriving from the Yoruba tribes of Africa.
With a centered, more balanced life, he embarked on what would become a dream come true and one year later created Yoruba Records. In 2001, he released his debut album Paradigm (Soul Jazz Records). This superb artist album introduced Osunlade to audiences that would in other circumstances not "realize" house music.

Presents The Yoruba Soul Mixes (Rapster/BBE) is an overdue collection highlighting his best remixes from the label, almost all currently unavailable on CD.If you listen closely to his superb compositions under his Yoruba guise you will hear the work of someone who understands how to craft a crossover hit and who understands his collaborators strengths. One look at his remix discography and you know you are in the company of someone with a great respect for music. Roy Ayers, Salif Keita, DJ
Jazzy Jeff, Cesaria Evora,
Incognito and Spacek are just some of the exceptional artists touched by the Yoruba vibe. This respect for the artist culminates in dancefloor anthems so memorable they practically redefine the definition of "
The Remix".
