Celebrating 50 years in show business, Jimmy Osmond, the youngest sibling of the world renowned Osmonds, has announced an international concert tour, "Moon River & Me," which pays tribute to the songs and legacy of music legend Andy Williams. Osmond's anniversary tour kicks off in Las
Vegas with a special two night engagement, Saturday & Sunday evening,
September 17 & 18 at The Suncoast Hotel & Casino.
It's a fitting tribute, as Williams played a major role in featuring the Osmond Brothers including 3-year-old Jimmy on his television series. He and his brothers also performed on Andy Williams' live shows in Las
Vegas after which they became headliners on the Las
Vegas Strip for many years. The Osmond Brothers would go on to become one of the most successful recording groups and concert performers, selling millions of records to fans around the world.
Jimmy Osmond says, "I'm very much looking forward to 'coming home' to Las
Vegas in September, a place that has always been close to my heart and has meant so much to my whole family! Las
Vegas has held so many special moments for me, including my history and friendship with many legendary entertainers. I even had the unique honor of being named the youngest 'Elvis' impersonator at the age of 6! That makes sense considering the fact that I actually knew him, and he was a friend of the family."
He adds, "Producing and performing 'Moon River & Me' pays homage to my friend and mentor, Andy, and is the most wonderful way I can imagine to celebrate my 50th year in show business. It's a great platform for me to honor Andy and to keep his legacy alive. I've had such a blast performing some of Andy's greatest songs, along with my special guests including my brother Jay Osmond, Charlie Green from 'Britain's Got Talent,' the Moon River Band, and a few surprises! Vegas brings it all full circle for me, and I'll be enjoying the nostalgia just as much as Andy's fans!"
The show itself, the only tribute show authorized by the
Andy Williams Estate, presents audiences with award-winning music, nostalgic film clips, and special memories of Andy Williams.
