September of 2001 saw the groundbreaking introduction of musical theater to China. Masterpiece / Live From The Great Hall Of The People presents Webber's favorite songs performed by a 60-piece orchestra, led by Patrick Vacciarello, who has conducted musicals for Webber on Broadway as well as national tours in the US and Australia. Featured performers include some of Broadway's biggest stars including Elaine Paige and recording sensations Coco Lee and Kris Phillips (Fei Xiang).

Masterpiece / Live From The Great Hall Of The People comes as a combo collector's package including both the DVD and audio CD. DVD special features include "Backstage in Beijing," a visit to The Great Wall of China by the cast and crew, cast views on the show and an a capella version of "The
Music of the Night." The CD has bonus CD-ROM video footage of "The
