HOLLYWOOD, CA. (MIG Records) - Imbued with soul, freshened with a splash of Euro-hip, Liverpool's most prolific band since the Beatles, MIG Records recording artists, CHIONE, have left British soil to ring in the New Year and their new, self-titled album in America.
MIG Records owner, Dr. Henry Jones, is confident that CHIONE will be very well received Stateside, "CHIONE is incomparable; they transcend the standard genres and have created a new, sophisticated sound by fusing Spanish guitar, rock, R&B and jazz, and capping it off with lead singer Natalie's haunting, captivating voice."
If CHIONE's New Year's Eve concert at Los Angeles hot spot the 'Forbidden City' was any indication of the success to come, great things are in store. From the night alone, new bookings locked in for January 6th at Anaheim's 'House of Blues' (9:00pm) and January 12th at LA's 'Roxy' (9009 W. Sunset - 9:00pm).
Founded by singer Natalie Reeves and acoustic Spanish guitarist Karl Owen, CHIONE's roots are steeped in British heritage. Self-described as Electro-Latin rock with transcontinental influences, CHIONE is preparing for a US College tour in anticipation of their March 8th, 2005, release date, through Navarre Entertainment distribution.
Over and above their music, CHIONE, in collaboration with the other MIG Records artists, have taken on the crusade of being torchbearers for the 'Digital Divide.' A mandate set forth by MIG Records owner, Dr. Henry Jones, the digital divide seeks to bring an understanding and education of global village skills to audiences worldwide, from utilizing email to surfing the web, to staying in touch via cell phones or learning of other cultures through television or Internet cable.
CHIONE is incorporating the digital divide into their personal worlds by communicating with fans via their website and email, broadcasting their travel and show experiences both domestically in America and worldwide via cable and the Internet and thanks to cellular phones staying in touch with family and friends.
"We are so excited to be here," said Natalie. "It's much warmer than Liverpool!" She also encourages fans to call their local radio and TV stations to request their music...
