BRENTWOOD, TN. (Sparrow Records) - Recognition for Switchfoot and its breakthrough double platinum set, THE BEAUTIFUL LETDOWN, continues to pour in from newly released 2004 media wrap-up reports.

Billboard, the leading international music entertainment industry magazine, has named Switchfoot and THE BEAUTIFUL LETDOWN the Top Christian Artist and Christian Album of 2004 respectively based on sales figures. The band's first major crossover radio and video hit, "Meant To Live," finished at No 18 on Billboard's Hot Mainstream Top 40 Tracks year-end chart as well.

iTunes, the top music download Web site, lists Switchfoot's THE BEAUTIFUL LETDOWN among the Best of 2004 alongside albums from Usher, Ray Charles, Green Day, Alicia Keys, and Black Eyed Peas.

Elsewhere, The New York Times' year-end column, "Pop's Pet Sounds," stated that, "Openly Christian rockers like Switchfoot did break through to the mainstream..." and also reported how, "Radio programmers once considered songs about God to be commercial blunders; no more."
