BURBANK, CA. (Warner Bros.) - Trapt, the Los Angeles-based quartet whose major label debut album on Warner Bros. Records is one of the biggest success stories of the current musical season, is currently in the studio recording their eagerly awaited follow-up.

The as-yet unnamed album will feature new material written and arranged by Trapt and produced, along with the band, by Don Gilmore.

Expectations are running high for the new Trapt release, thanks in part to the smash success of their 2003 single, "Headstrong," which was named Best Modern Rock Track at the recent Billboard Music Awards and helped launch the band on a barnstorming international tour.

"We now have a dedicated fan base, we've become better musicians, and that's all come out in our songwriting," remarks Trapt guitarist Simon Ormandy. "By playing in front of so many people for so long we really know what rocks and we're taking that experience into the studio with us."

"We played over 300 shows in 2003 alone," adds vocalist Chris Brown. "In that process we focused on giving them the best show possible and that's the same commitment we've got to what we're doing in the studio."

Returning from the road, the group began writing new material late last year. "Three months later we had what we knew was a great record," says Ormandy. "The songs are a lot more about the everyday conflicts of life, the stuff we've all got to get over, based on situations and circumstances that we personally, or people we know, have gone through."
Following the release of the new Trapt album later this year, the band will embark on a new tour, taking them, says Ormandy, "to places we haven't been before so our music can reach new audiences."
