NEW
YORK (Fearless Records) - The
Plain White T's will release their
sophomore album, All That We Needed (Fearless Records), Jan. 25.
Alternative Press describes the new disc, the follow-up to 2002's Stop,
as 'chock full of peppy power-pop with surprisingly socially aware
lyrics it really is all that you needed.'
'It just seemed
perfect because of all the lineup changes we've gone through since
Stop,' frontman Tom Higgenson remarks of the album's title. 'The band
we have right now clicks on so many levels; it finally feels right.
It's like a new lineup was all we needed to come together. Now we have
a new attitude.' Dave Tirio (guitar), Mike Retondo (bass), De'Mar
Hamilton (drums) and Tim Lopez (guitar) round out the new outfit.
The
Chicago natives have toured relentlessly, sharing stages with the likes
of Jimmy Eat World, Saves the Day and
Simple Plan. Before joining the
'Take Action Tour' alongside Sugarcult,
Head Automatica and others
the quintet will get up close and personal with their fans during a
three-week, unplugged in-store tour.
Prior to bringing their
infectious melodies to the East Coast, the T's will stop in
Chicago to
celebrate the release of All That We Needed with their hometown crowd.
The band will jump onto the 'Take Action Tour' Feb. 20.
The
'Take Action Tour' promotes awareness for various charities and causes,
including suicide prevention and treatment for mental illness. 'Having
bands acknowledge these issues is really great,' Higgenson volunteers.
'It's important to remember that anyone can end up having to face stuff
like this. Everyone feels depressed and alone sometimes. If nothing
else, this shows that people out there really do care.'
'Being
on the road a lot can give you a sense of loneliness,' adds Higgenson.
'You're surrounded by people all the time, especially at shows, but
sometimes that makes you feel even more lonely. A lot of the songs on
this record deal with those feelings and dwelling in your own sorrows.'
