The New Broadway Cast Recording Of Bette Midler In Hello, Dolly! Receives 2017 Grammy Award Nomination For Best Musical Theater Album
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Masterworks Broadway celebrates the 2017 Grammy Award nomination for Best Musical Theater Album for The New Broadway Cast Recording of Hello, Dolly! starring three-time Grammy-winning legend Bette Midler as Dolly Gallagher Levi. Produced by multiple Grammy winner Steven Epstein, the album is out everywhere. Also available is the newly released 180-gram vinyl edition featuring a deluxe gatefold package and a twenty-page book of production photos, lyrics, and liner notes.

This nomination marks Ms. Midler's fourteenth Grammy nomination, having previously won three and adds yet another esteemed honor to Ms. Midler's already extraordinary and historic run on Broadway, having received all of the most prestigious awards in the American theater, including the 2017 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical.

Ms. Midler said, "Hello, Dolly! has been such a labor of love for all of us: Scott Rudin, Jerry Zaks, Warren Carlyle, David Hyde Pierce, Gavin Creel, Kate Baldwin, Taylor Trensch, Beanie Feldstein, the entire ensemble, Andy Einhorn, and Steven Epstein. We all are so grateful and honored to get the Grammy nomination for Best Musical Theater Album!"

This production of Michael Stewart and Jerry Herman's Hello, Dolly! is the most coveted ticket of the year, with audiences rushing to see the "historic event" (Rolling Stone) that has left "tears on the cheeks of critics" (The Washington Post). In addition to Ms. Midler's Tony for Best Actress in a Musical, it also won Best Musical Revival, Best Featured Actor in a Musical (Gavin Creel), and Best Costume Design of a Musical (Santo Loquasto). Hello, Dolly! has set an unparalleled string of box office records, holding the record for the largest pre-performance advance sale in Broadway history, and repeatedly breaking the Shubert Theatre box office and The Shubert Organization records.

There are only seven weeks left in Ms. Midler's already-historic run at the Shubert Theatre. Starting Saturday evening, January 20, two-time Tony Award winner Bernadette Peters, who has been called a "theatre goddess" by The Washington Post, will take on the title role of Dolly Gallagher Levi.
